We visit a children’s home in (Myanmar) Burma to work with a range of children and teenagers, enabling them to learn new skills in performing arts and sports.
We actively encourage and enable links between the children in Myanmar and children local to us by supporting them to communicate with each other via letters and cards.
We organise regular events that reach out and involve children and families in the life of the local church we are connected to.
These events always have a performing and/or creative arts emphasis to them, which gives children an opportunity to try activities like craft, singing, dancing and acting.
We run a puppet team called ‘The Sparkle Squad’ that utilises the talent of local young people and provides puppet and black light theatre shows.
These shows are for the benefit and entertainment of local children and their families.
DIY SOS Project in Yangon
This year the team are planning a DIY SOS project in the children's home in Yangon, Myanmar.
A large team of people from various parts of the UK will travel out to the country at the end of October to redecorate the children's bedrooms and provide new duvets and pyjamas for them.
While decorating is taking place the children will be taken to a theme park, have an exciting sleep over and a day of entertainment. On returning to their home it will be a big surprise for them.
This is going to be a big project that will require a lot of funding, so any donations will be very much appreciated
